What's happening under the rear lower suspension/axle cover? I haven't looked at a picture of this area and the team appears to be hiding the view from below the diffuser.

interesting fw gap separator, quess they dont leave the pointy part like that for someone to get hurt, vortex generator? maybe especially for yaw for to help pull fw wake away from the car
i can see renault using same solution with a sharp pointy gap seperator around the same place on their latest fw spec

Slot gap must be hidden where the kink is, bit of a compression artifact then.

That boomerang is going to be heavily contoured come the end of the season..

The "Cape" under the nose seem to look like a "pan" with the square centre section hollowed...

Or is this also only reflections ??

Developments under the new regs will certainly be interesting to watch. I expect the bargeboards to be extended to their maximum height, innovative FW designs and a full shark fin above during testing.

What's creating the reflection, while also blocking the light, is the rear crash structure.

If there was a winglet there, why can't we see it at both sides?

This is what I call doing something for the sake of doing it. A not so good overview imo. SHOULD have used the real car. An overview of a render using a generic FW is a waste of time imo. You'd expect someone who does technical overviews to know that.

Is it just me or others think as well that Mclaren and renault seems to be following same philosophy be is front suspension , side pod inlets or rear wing design. can't be a coincidence.
i am not an outright expert like others but looks like they are collaborating at much higher level,

He knows, he just can't use other people's copyrighted stuff for his own analysis. He can use what's available out there for free, and at the time mclaren PR render shots were probably the only thing.

I agree he should delay the overview until more usefull stuff comes out, especially because people would still watch it even with a delay of a few days simply because he's the only one that does a proper technical analysis with some more nuanced information compared to lets say autosport which is more causal.

Marc Priestley overview of the car. Interesting at 9:35, apparently a fundamental problem of last year's car which screwed them for the season was the short distance between the front wheels and sidepods, so when the front wheels were turned the barge board aero didn't have the effect that it did with other cars. This year's car has more distance between the wheels and sidepods.
