I can can see the difference but does it really do anything aside from give more structural strength ? just looks like a coating to make it thicker.

...there are mechanical components underneath.

we sure of that or is that an assumption ?

On the pushrod? Of course. The pivot point on the pushrod has been moved inboard. Before the pivot point was close to the upright which means that it's close to the vertical axis of rotation = when the wheel is steered there is very little ride height change.

Now the pivot point for the end of the pushrod has been moved inboard to the top of the thick portion sticking out of upright. This puts it far away from the axis of rotation of a wheel being steered. As the wheel is turned on the steering axis it pulls the wheels up, ergo the front ride height drops.

It is this dropping of the front ride height that increases front wing performance (read downforce) and improves front end performance.

If the Pushrod-on-Upright feature works - and it probably will - then this could be somewhat of a game-changer.
Can you hmm.. dumb it down a bit?
Are you asking for an explanation? If so, then it works by lowering the outer wheel & raising inner one mid-corner. This reduces front ride height and increases tyre contact surface. Therefore more grip.
Btw, Williams introduced the system in Canada and even the beleaguered FW42 improved its performance.
The Video I saw, it was hard to tell if the ride height changed. The camber definitely did. On the left hand turn, the bottom went out (increase of negative camber).

The camber is nothing to do with the pushrod.

Are there any changes on the bargeboards? I'm not sure if those elements that were conecting them together where there before.

Is that pullrod cover on the rear suspension just not fitted down or does it really leave a split trailing edge like that? :wtf:

Can't see how it'd be legal if the latter?

Reminds me of the 2014 suspension arms.

Maybe not but a change is camber is occurring here. Looks like the bottom is being pulled in. Could be the Anti-roll bar pulling that in.

That's just normal suspension geometery - as before, nothing to do with the pushrod.

To expand on PhillipM's comment, steering angle combined with caster/kingpin angle can make a cambered wheel appear to lose camber. Shock absorber connections do not influence this.

No it can't be the anti-roll, the camber is controlled by the suspension geometry. I.e. The angle, length and placement points (on the attachments on the chassis and upright) of the wishbones. The anti-roll bar is attached to the pushrods which only have control over the vertical displacement of the upright (and therefore tyre).

More important in that video is that you can see as the steering lock is applied the wishbones rise squatting the front of the car.

N.b. I guess there may be some small effects in toe but definitely nothing significant like we are observing.
