Coming under investigation after the race, the 22 year-old driver was handed a 24 second time penalty, which relegated him down the order. Moving up to the podium was Mercedes' Stoffel Vandoorne, who clinched his second podium of the race weekend, rounding off a sensational debut performance for new manufacturer works squad Mercedes-Benz EQ team.

Following a chaotic season opener in Saudi Arabia, BMW i Andretti Motorsport's Max Guenther lost his podium finish after the FIA found him in breach of the regulations for overtaking Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler's Lucas di Grassi while the BMW i Safety Car was out.
Nyck de Vries also got a penalty for overtaking during the SC.

Turvey also penalised for overusing energy.

For a top level series they do a crap job actually informing people of the result. Stewards slower than F1.

Actual order:

Is it just me or are the cars kinda hard to tell apart with more than half the field having red/white/black liveries

you can't activate the attack mode under Saftey car. what happens if you finish a race under saftey car and have't used them all up. last year it was a requirement to use them

Excellent and enlightening long read by Hazel Southwell of InsideElectric about covering FormulaE in Riyadh as a woman, FE generally and Riyadh generally and the politics/ethics of FE going to Saudi Arabia...it covers a lot of ground but is worth it and far more entertaining than I've made it sound
