Also, the racing line doesn't favour pole I've P2. Indeed, P2 getting a drag down to T1 might be better than starting on pole.

In long high speed corners the outwash goes towards the outside of the turn, the following car can avoid the downforce robbing outwash by staying slightly closer to the apex than the leading car.
Except the half of the wake that is out washed towards the inside, of course.
It's hard to visualize what the wake of the car does in yaw, suffice to say, it affects a car a lot less on a long corner than on consecutive corners. That said, it'll take some big members for a following car to keep it floored through sector 2.

The final corner has ample banking, and different lines are possible.
I was going to say this.
People say it's impossible to overtake after high speed corners but Silverstone proves that wrong every year.

It's important to remember that the wake isn't a hosepipe-like flow out of the rear of the car, it's a bubble of disturbed air that moves with the car. Disturbed air is left behind and that is very much a 3D effect that spreads and reduces as the turbulence is damped by the surrounding ambient air. But because that bubble follows the car, the air behind the car is drawn forward with the car. That general moving forward of the air is what damages the following car's performance, just as much, if not more, than the turbulence itself.

Im looking forward to a Mugello race, it will be a good one i think.

Imola and Algarve will follow, maybe even a Jerez date.

I can see 4-5 more races in Europe, before a double header in Sochi, and two more double headers in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.

September 4-6: Monza, Italy
September 11-13: Mugello, Italy
September 18-20: Imola, Italy

October 2-4: Jerez, Spain
October 9-11: Algarve, Portugal

October 23-25: Sochi, Russia
November 6-8: Sochi, Russia

November 20-22: Sakhir, Bahrain
November 27-29: Sakhir, Bahrain (Almost Oval Layout???)

December 4-6: Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi (Corkscrew Layout???)
December 11-13: Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi

That would be 10 more races, i could see Jerez and Algarve fall off, depending on if they want to go there, if one or the other fans off, Valencia Riccardo Tormo may be a fun fit. I can see 8 of these go ahead and that would make 16 races, decent for a salvaged and cobbled together calendar i think.

Just been looking at Imola on Google Maps. I reckon that'd be a heck of a track for current cars. There are some corners that will be pretty fast. Should be quite exciting to drive.

I wish they'd get rid of DRS and all the aero crap...a place like Mugello would be fantastic for simpler cars with little to no aero dependence.
They already have cars like that. They're called saloons. Or if it must be open wheeled, how about Formula Vee?
You're a genius.

Looks epic to me! I'm looking forward to it.

Surely Imola is a bit unlikely due to its cramped paddock making distancing difficult. Then there’s the housing close to and inside the circuit... I’d really like to see it happen but it seems to have too many factors against it.

The pole lap onboard for Mugello and Algarve should look pretty amazing.

As would Imola. The run from Tosa climbing to Piratella then the descent to the Aque Minerali would be amazing.

I’m not sure how you’d overtake at these venues though. Mugello’s straight is quite long, Imola and Portimão would need more creativity...
