that's true, it's not a Top Fuel car, it's a Jr.Fuel dragster.
It's still a nice photo and really how many people on this forum are going to know the difference between the two

Good eye and you are absolutely right bdr529.
And " how many people on this forum are going to know the difference between the two" was my thoughts exactly.
I've always thought it was a great shot.

Thanks for indulging my attempt at humour re: "Off Topic Alert!!"

This shot of the event that arguably ended the insanity referred to above has always struck me as a classic piece of motorsports photography.

As many will know, Don "Big Daddy" Garlits conceived the first fully competitive rear engine top fuel dragster from his hospital bed recovering from this ...

EDIT: Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong with my image post? ... EDIT2: Thanks to Hollus for the help!

Back in 1970 Ford of Canada had a traveling Performance Clinic that would go to Ford dealerships and drag strips
the fleet of cars that they used to do the clinics consisted of
429 SCJ Mercury Cyclone Spoiler, 428 SCJ Mercury Cougar, 428 CJ Mustang, 427 SOHC Mustang

It may not be Top Fuel but it's certainly Top Class

I've watched the last race of the season at Pomona, and I'm sad I didn't follow this season. Big fan of dragsters and they were having a discussion about top fuels in early 2000 vs 2015. Basically they are as quick and fast now to 1000ft than they were to the quarter mile. Just shows despite looking like the same how they've evolved!

I would love to get a ride in something that can go even 5s to 1000ft! :D
