MGU-H pre spin as heard in the past when exiting pits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLJVtDzjJ10

heard at 5.15 same pre spin to create boost

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Mercedes customers will be able to choose their own solutions for the new wastegate exhaust/s

"It’s team choice," Cowell said. "We say that [the wastegate exit] is where you start and the pressure drop mustn’t be greater than X with a flow rate of Y, so it will be interesting to see what a lot of the cars have got."

So, from what I heard listening to it a few times, it sounds like:
Engine starter cranking.
Engine fires, holds idle.
Throttle blips.
Race start rev holding (and you can barely hear the turbo in the background, and it comes in quickly enough that it's probably being spooled by the MGU-H rather than exhaust pressure). Doesn't sound like WOT, just holding the engine at a speed closer to redline.
Screen fades, throttle is lifted.
Sounds like they opened the wastegate, but then did something with the MGU-H as well to control turbo speed, because the very tail end sounded like a turbo de-spooling with the wastegate open, but before that it sounded like the turbine speed was being maintained/manipulated with the wastegate open.
I will happily admit I could be completely wrong, but that's what it sounds the most like to me

Sounds like the wastegate(s) are opened at 0:29

Interesting but there isn't much leverage to move the wastegate exhausts around. Probably more to do with cooling exits in and around the exhaust pipe exit.

Yup! And its effect on rear up-wash effect. Each Merc customers teams has its own design targets. Suitable its AERO expertise. Witch is crucial for steady and predictable grip from rear diffuzor and RW performance.

EDIT1: To be clear effect is probably miniour, but anyway its effect to take into account. Expecially if you implemeted the monkey seat thing become more interesting.

I heard Honda have combined the ES and the PCU into a sigle unit in 2015. Has Merc done the same? you dont see a PCU (which has been placed above the ES in the 2014 pictures) in the pics they realsed lately...

I guess that'd be a way around the ES requirements. If you can design an ES that's lighter and smaller than the regulations, you can integrate the PCU into it to fill the 'void'. It is probably beneficial for combining cooling circuits, too.

The engine ECU i thin has to be the standard Mclaren. I am not sure how Honda would combine them into one unit.. but maybe the software has the available space and capability to do it?

It's not the ICE ECU, it's most likely the drive controls for the MGUH & MGUK. The ICE ECU will tell the drive what it wants and the drive will make it happen.
