I dont understand the Prost came out looking bad view. He came out fine in my opinion, after all the film is about Senna.
Jean-Marie Balestre, president of FISA was the real villain and the directors said they could have been so much more harsh on him!

I just have the very simple opinion that its an incredible film about and incredible man.

As it was a documentary from Senna's perspective I don't think we should expect any less. I was more a Prost fan during their in and out of team battling, but was quite taken by the record of their cockpit - TV conversation, as the grid lined up behind the safety car on that fateful weekend, as the retired Prost was commentating on the Imola GP for French TV.

Whatever sides are taken from the film, the more interesting point to me is that Alain Prost is a trustee of the Ayrton Senna Foundation, which suggests that the 'war' between them had hidden the true respect they held for each other.

There was a great programme on Radio 5 in the UK discussing the film with John Watson, Maurice Hamilton & the film's producer James Gay-Rees.

They discussed if the film has a pro-Senna and anti-Prost bias. As Gay-Rees pointed out, making a documentary about one man using footage of that man's actions and words is inevitably going to show life from his perspective.

Very moving film. I have to say the Brazilian cut was better than the English version. You really have to wonder how Ballestre ever got to where he did.
Overall it did what it set out to do.

Loved the snipey comments Prost made, shows how Senna rattled the man. Also like the Williams active suspension being put through it's paces in the garage.
Such a shame we wouldn't see Senna do Schumi over...

Well since we're in spoiler mode, I loved the part where he finally won at Interlagos.

I don´t feel it was biased towards Senna really.
It´s a film about him so the movie will be about him, Prost i feel did a very nice job and was one of the guys i enjoyed listening to the most,
Aswell as the english man, felt like i was listening to my grandpa or something.

The american guy.. i don´t even know what to say, it felt like he tried to use every inch of his body to express every word he said as it was the finest words ever come out of any humans mouth. Bit of a stretch there imo.

Ballestre interfering in Japan was a rather clumsy, nearly as bad as Mosely v Ron Dennis.

I think that Senna was a little bit crazy judging by his convictions. This man was obviously obsessed with winning on even ground. You just wouldn't see a driver blatantly, and publicly talking about a move to another team right in front of the team principal lol. Not even Alonso did that in 2009.

The active suspension williams was creepy! The should have put some of that stuff on Frank William's wheel chair! lol now that would be creepy!

Senna always spoke his mind. It's part of what made him great, the empathy one felt for him due to his very emotive and descriptive interviews. You didn't hear Senna as so much as you felt him.
It also strikes me that everything Senna did or said was meant. Heartfelt and to the core his actions were him.
I wouldn't expect Senna to be apologising on some social medium for his actions.

I read that both, especially Prost, have been made to look really bad. For this reason I will not watch it. Seeing as I was a fan of Prost it'll probably make me extremely angry.

Just watched it. Liked it enough to recommend it to any F1 fan, but thought it was a bit of a let down: not documentaristic enough for a documentary and too documentaristic for a movie. Didn't like the dragging bits of the funeral etc at the end, I would have the onboard footage from the fatal crash as my last shot.

Im reading the book Senna Versus Prost at the moment, and will finish it before i watch the movie. The FIA comes out badly, Prost comes out indiffrent, and Lauda comes out smelling of ---.

Just went and saw it in Union Square tonight – it was an interesting experience. I do think it came off a little unfairly on Prost. That said, it doesn't say he did anything he didn't do, and it doesn't say he didn't do anything he did do.

It shows Prost being a little bit the villain in 89, and Senna being the villain in 90, and it covers that the two had respect for each other.

I would go and see it if I were you.

That all said – it does cast the FISA of the time in a very bad light, especially Balestre.

The most interesting part was Jackie Stewart interviewing Senna.

"If i were to count back to all the world champions, the number of times they made contact with other drivers, the number of times that you made contact with more other drivers than they have in total!"


Then he addresses the great Jackie as just Stewart.

The orginal crash kid.

The movie takes off the rose tint that most like to put up when looking in the past.

Pretty good movie that put things into perspective to today's drivers who go for the gap.

Amazing to see how humble he was, it seems almost impossible these days to see a world champion who is able to dominate a lot of his competitors without growing a big head. It seemed like he knew he was often the best driver out there (which he was) but yet rarely shouted about it - only when needing to back up his own point (re. Stewart interview).

I don't know if it's because I watch a lot of American sport (NBA/NFL) but I feel this is a valued attribute that is absent in many highly talented sportsmen these days.
