It looks like they did the same thing as Ferrari (notice, I’m not saying they copied them ;-)), the additional wing above the rear axle is mounted on an extension of the cover that contemporarily satisfies the rules on the engine cover length introduced last year, the solution has been tested on the F2004 before the start of the ’04 season (although never used in races) and is now on the F2004M. On the McLaren the cut is a bit more curved but the concept is the same.

He,he i have.....Star Wars. I read on a Minardi website that the PS05 (launched Imola) is also going to feature significant downforce generating parts that according to Stoddart will leave little room for sponsors. He also says that it will be unlike any car Minardi has ever produced. That won't be difficult, every Minardi since 1983 looks the same.

the airbox wing should improve airflow to the rear wing and make the rear wing more effective i think... i cant see any other reason for it

What's with the horns then?

I guess it is meant to straighten the airflow leaving the helmet area. I guess there is some turbulence there which may eventually reduce the efficiency of the rear wing.
So, in my opinion to better airflow towards the rear wing...

Anyway it looks strange, can't imagine seeing multiple teams driving with these "horns"
