Cool yes but doubt it :)

When they reveled the original R18 it was also black.

But when racing it had more colors on it. Though more black than the one who raced at this years Le Mans.

Fully revealed

And the new R18 runs a MGU-H as well. Just like F1.

And confirmation that Porsche uses an inline 4 turbo engine

http://www.gtspirit.com/2013/12/12/2014 ... with-kers/

Don't know if the Porsche uses MGU-H.

It doesn't say in-line in that link, does it? It just says 4 cylinder in that link.

I don't really care if it's the best, but it is shaping up to be a great one.

Looking at the R18, i take it they scrapped the rear wing width thing where the teams would claim that the outer parts of the wing was actually not a wing but a rear fender exstension.

Edit: rather interesting bit on the front aero, from Audi press release,
With respect to designing the front end, the engineers enjoy new freedoms. Instead of
a diffusor, a genuine front wing with a flap may be used for the first time. This
promises aerodynamic advantages and lower costs, as this part of the bodywork will
lend itself to easier modification to suit the various race tracks. In the past, it was
necessary to produce different bodywork assemblies.
Also if you want high-res images,

More interesting shots released by Mulsannescorner about the R18 at Sebring (the zebra car is an Audi, not a Porsche)

The official Porsche site about the 919 Hybrid

The Audi, the Porsche and the Toyota (by alphabetical order, nothing more) will use very different hybrid concept. The WEC is technologically the best plateform, better than F-1, to sort out a relevant hybrid system for the street car. In F-1 we'll have new hybrid power units but they are all the same by rules.

Still nothing reported on this, but Webber has been testing since hasn't he?

My impression from the Audi video and from the Porsche design considerations is that both cars will have an F1 style turbo recovery MGU and one kinetic MGU for the front wheels. To me this minimizes the amount of storage necessary and provides the best power recovery for total power and vehicle dynamics.

I'll be keen to see the Toyota. My prediction is that they will have two kinetic systems, one on the rears and one on the front both piped through a huge capacitor or capacitor/battery hybrid system for storage.
