Ohhhhh Mama!

I have mixed emotions on this beauty... 1) It IS gorgeous 2) Being a big Porsche fan the lines of the back are a little too similar to a Porsche 3) Being a current gen CLS owner I like the muscular/prominent grill they've stuck with 4) While current power output numbers seem promising, it takes more than peak HP/TQ to be faster than a Porsche around the track and I hope Merc can do it esp if they incorporate AWD or some iteration of that.

Cos those wheels are GT3 RS wheels. The rear 3/4 is just the rump off a 911. The rear shape of the door is from a 911. And it looks like they've badly Photoshopped the door handles from a 911 to look more like the ones from MB.

Although it IS pretty.

This car will surely be the new Aston Martin as well? Seeing as how they've just signed an engine/architecture supply deal.

All of those renders at this stage are always mockups from motoring publications or fans.

Yes its a "rendering". But to my eyes at least, it looks pretty close to the camo mules.

Very excited aren't we I suspect its rear might be more akin to the SLS than a Porsche 991 911

It has a nice oldschool profile..somewhat stately and less sporty.
Somewhat of the jaguar e type mixed with the gullwing sls. Looks good.

Looks like that render is very close if we were to judge from this Mercedes-AMG GT video

Very close to the render, save for the rear.
All in all looks nicely proportioned, with classic Merc details.
Are there any stats re the mass of the engine?

Please tell me its lighter than the SLS!

It should be. It is smaller than SLS anyway. I have not found anything about the weight on this car. Mercedes has not released any Specs as of yet, I guess.
