great job kosioBG. Sorry for not getting back to you about the nose cone, I simply lacked the time, but it seems you created it quite alright!

The wing looks fine too, given the massive undertaking it is to create it on such a small scale. You'll probably end up with finetuning it, but especially the cascades are pretty much spot on. The upperflaps look good, should be a bit longer since they do meet up with the neutral section, but again considering the massive undertaking it's more of a minor point.

Completing the cockpit. Wheels.

I had three cockpit components missing: the steering wheel, the head protection and the seat. Let's start with the steering wheel. Here's its basic block (I tried to apply the carbon and the grps as precisely as possible):


Then, the buttons and display. It was really tough to make such small ones. The three selectors below the display have a knob, but the smaller buttons are just a piece of paper (one piece for three adjacent buttons)


And the back side. Finding photos was impossible, so I did some guesswork.


The head protection was a lot more straightforward. Here's the basic shape, followed by the completed component.



The seat was also difficult to reproduce, as there was close to no info on the internet. I found a video, and copied the belts from some other drawings. The seat is removable, and the top two belts fit into the designated slots in the closing mechanism. The carbon texturing ended up pretty good. Also note the two blue belts, which are used to remove the seat from the monocoque in case of a crash.


Here's the backside, and you can get an idea of how large the seat is. There's some heat shielding too.

Next (and second to last) step were the wheels. I thought that it would be quite a challenge to cut out the spokes, but it wasn't. The front and rear ones are different, so I approached them individually. The rims are better than last time and, needless to say, the spokes are see-trough, so the brakes are partially visible underneath. I also installed a valve.


Of course, the wheels are missing their decals and varnish.

Just a few words from me. It was an incredible journey to build this model. Exploring new techniques, improving in every single direction, it was great. i'd say the front wing's a tad high, but that's no real problem.

2 questions:

how did you fasten the bodywork onto the chassis?

how did you shape the card for the body work, and how did you make it stay in that shape?

Front wing looks fine to me.
Have to remember that the suspension is solid and not working as a proper car would.
Also doesnt seem to have the same sort of rake too which will bring the wing lower.
