Till now 18-01-2008 ,
Mc Laren MP4/23 and BMW F1.08 , are using conventional mirrors close to the cockpit

Toyota TF108 , Ferrari F2008 and Red Bull RB4 mounted the mirrors on the sidepods away from the cockpit .

I think that Renault , Torro Rosso will keep their mirrors away from the cockpit as they did last year and Williams , Honda will follow this trend

Force India and Super Aguri will use conventional mirrors because they will start the season with modified 2007 chassis

What about you Tomba , any good rear suspension MP4/23 pics :?: :?:
Not so far unfortunately

2005-20?
True, sorry for that ;)
dnomdec wrote:Tomba, mind explaining further the difference between the nose cone / wishbone attachment points on the MP4/22 and 23? From the pics bar555 posted, they look almost exactly the same to me.
The latest pics hy bar555 do show it clearly too. You can see that there is actually more of the suspension connection painted, and in the case of McLaren that means it is part of the nose cone. If you would remove the nose, you'd see that the suspension arm cover and thickening will extend further forward than the monocoque itself.
My point is however that McLaren chose to add a little more to the nose instead of fixed to the suspension. It will give the pitstop people a better chance to fit the nose in place before it is fixed. Previously the gap was a little bit smaller and therefore required more precision to position the nose correctly on the car.

already explained by Tomba

Same inlet shape but airbox area is much slimmer for reducing drag

As has been said they are extremley complicated devices. Mclaren probably tested and saw no benifit and so at the factory there are probably some refinements going on to them if they plan on using them...

Thanks for all your comparisons BAR555! During the offseason, I often pass the time looking for differences between new and old cars, and your work certainly helps! =D>

The MP4-23 is now running wheel covers, and exotic ones at that!

Plus, the development to the airbox area reminds me of the little winglets on the Ferrari F2001:

The new MP4/23 is likely to introduce new parts , as already did with the wheel rim sheilds . Do not worry every new thing will be spotted and "photo comparisoned"

BTW The airbox ears were first seen in Mc Laren MP4/13 1998 .As regards the new sheilds i will post the approriate comparison image .
