New situation.

I am not exactly how the 'earodynamic casing around the front suspension is called, but it looks to me as they have changed that aera too, together with the 'ears'.
I noticed this too last week but am awaiting a clear image to post it in the development blog. It is also interesting to know that they have used this white aerofoil around the frontal lower suspension arms to connect a lower element to it. A good image will show that there is a vertical bar on both sides of the nose extending downwards and ending with a horizontal plate, possibly with added ballast.
Also note that this white panel extends up to the rear lower wishbone.

Thanks Zack for the pictures, and while looking at the pictures I can spot a lot of differences between the old F8-VIIB and the VJM-01.

I guess they have decided that the secondary function of the strut (air guide to the rear wing) is needed.

Or it was easier to use parts that the already owned... :-P

Nah :) - with 3 wind tunnels on the go I expect they are going to make good aerodynamic gains this year and next.

If i m not wrong FIA have place some wind tunnel limitation this year?

They probably have, but like every other FIA subjectively enforced rule, it only applies to certain teams.

They talked about it but haven't enforced it yet.

Most teams would just pile more resources into CFD and so it's not a way to limit development alone.

Or once all teams are restricted, some teams will find ways around the restriction by using wind tunnels to test aero-parts for their A1GP car !! which can also be used on their F1 car

Or simply sub-contract out the wind tunnel development to another company, like Red Bull Technologies...
