I believe those pods are for gyro/yaw/AoA sensors which are to help fine tune front end performance, possibly when testing new aero or mechanical devices at the front and gain imperical data rather than drivers impressions.

I think a pod like this was on a Ferrari a while back and Scarbs came up with the correct definition, I've not looked that up but believe I've remembered relatively accurately?

Wrong, it is side slip/ride height sensor

somewhere later in the thread (or it may be another thread) the name of the manufacturer of this sensor is revealed

Ferrari style hole through the nose. Look at the pictute I posted, there are clearly two square holes on top of the nose...

It was said at the beginning of the season that the Honda's suspension arms were not stiff enough.

Jerez test: Much beefier front upper wishbones in test. To match the rear suspension update.

They're wasting a lot of time & money updating numerous small items on a car & season that is a write-off. Perhaps just to stay in front of Force India. However, by updating the suspension maybe they can learn something for next years car. As I've said before, they need some new faces for technical director & cheif aerodynamicist.

I think you are right in the last sentence and that is probably RB influence. He has his team working to sort out details, and that is probably the key for superiority in F1. He and Byrne are known for getting EVERYTHING out of initial design (Benetton 1992-1996), Ferrari (1997-2000...) so I guess that is an ongoing process of sorting stuff out for next year car by trying things out this year.

It is plausible that these are two holes, theres nothing on or around the car that could be causing a shadow or anything, it doesnt appaear to be a trick of the light!!
