It's not what the teams are doing that's the problem it's the F&^&%^$#$^&*&$#G RULES taht are stifiling development. Like Jag/ Sauber have invested huge amounts of money in Wind Tunnels.. WHY I ask IF they develop any new ideas chances are NEW Bloody RULES will be made to QUASH them !!

I gotta say if I was an investor in F1 in the past I sure would not be in the future, better to stick your money under the bed, at least you wont LOOSE it that way

they rodders, it is definitely the formulae for development and it is the FIA primary concern to stifle that development as much as they can... and they are still smashing lap records in the first 10 laps of a race...
certain things they block are disappointing like Mclaren regenerative braking system which was very clever and could have been beneficial to road car development...

i read an interesting article on the advantage for williams of being dq'd form canada. the thought is that mclaren got more points and therefore seperated themselves from jag in the constructors points. this means that unless a jag wins the usgp they will far enough back in the championship for a clause in webbers contract to take effect on july 1. the clause will allow him to search for a different ride for next year... you can connect the dots.

hmmm....have there been men in long coats hanging round outside your place mclaren11.....hehe that all makes sense in a conspiracy theorists way but i cant imagine a company that prides itself on engineering excellence as williams does, not to mention BMW, to suffer the embarrrasment of a dq and losing 2nd and 4th places when they are only 4th in the championship for such a manouvere... could be just me though.

It seems something weird that one of the F1 big teams like Williams did something stupid by using an illegal part.

Anyhow, it's just a smart analysis. Nobody knew how would the Canada grid be.

No No No i dont mean to say that they did it on purpous rather that there is a plus to being dq'd. if they did do it on purpous they got very lucky that A: both mclarens scored and B:that the McLarens werent jags

The Webber contract is an interesting thing....but!...is this fact good for Williams?Don't forget that probablly the Williams sponsors don't think it's funny...even if they do get Webber for next year! It's not just the Williams image that is "on the line"....but everyone who sponsors/supplies Williams!

Another thing is....if the Williams disqualification was intended....was the Toyota one also intended? To tell you the truth I really don't believe what that article you read says...the brake ducks aren't something you can change between the parc fermé and the race, so they are on the car before qualifying...and the scrutineering after qualifying only weighs the car....so they used those brake ducts in qualifying! The thing is....how could Williams know (before qualifying) that Mclaren would finish the race? how could Williams know that Jaguar wasn't going to have a good race?

there are a lot of how's, why's and if's that Williams couldn't know untill the end of the race, in order to do such a gamble!
