This thread just proves you can't buy taste.

I think the gold-plating has scientific value as well as unmatched beauty to the eye, remember the insulation thread?

X, are you the type what wears 'bling' in an xcessive manner? Do you also put chrome fender edges and door handles on your cars?

Say no to ghetto sleds (and chrome)!

Not xactly, but sometimes I wear a shiny golden tie at office meetings, is that xcessive you think, mx?

Well, as Einstein said: "Golden ties at the office makes you wonder if the third integral of the gravity field scalar tensor is as complicated as trying to moderate this forum".

It's OK for me: I lived in Barranquilla for a while and let me tell you, it's NOT Mexico (sorry, mx).

I think X would love the Barranquilla carnival: perhaps he can find some inspiration for new attires.

That's something they won't forget at your office. Of course, a metallic tie would help. I'm not making this up: the guy to the left is a Texas A&M engineer.

Standard dress in Barranquilla offices. Perhaps it's too cold when you use it in nordic sites, but I've heard they considering it at some places.
Image

The Carnival is over. Everybody is mourning King Momo (aka Joselito Carnaval) while they dance. The point is the dress of the bald guy in black glasses, to the left. That would impress everybody at X office: sober, yet unforgettable. I'm barely visible behind the guy in red, back of the picture.

Finally. A metallic tie (with matching metallic pants).

So, X, tarzoon, Shrek, ISLAMATRON: if some day you come to Colombia, you'll find yourselves at home.

Belatti, jon-mullen and Downforce would cry, I imagine... no problem, guys, you can fit at King Momo's mourning. It's true you cannot buy good taste, but it's also true that you cannot buy joy either. ;) Oh, and thanks, Downforce: that music was inspirational (while I looked for the appropriate pictures).

You're right that I'm crying but wrong on the reason, Ciro. It's because that looks like a blast but it's 3 degrees C here and I have one library-trip still to go tonight.

So is it a vinyl wrap or is it a paint job?

I love carnival time, its allways great home in Miami, I'm sure it would be fun In Columbia as well.
