Well if you become a fan, it's often handy to get the headlines to your facebook timeline. Some people like facebook more than using RSS or twitter, that is mainly the reason.
As a result, if you get these items and you like them or react to them in facebook, friends of yours can see it and hopefully discover F1T too

If this were a truly cutting edge site, we'd have a twitter feed to inform us when the Facebook page has been updated with info on the RSS link to the blog post announcing a new article on the website.

And hopefully some sort of gps check-in feature, with notifications. And perhaps a Ping account, so that everyone can see what music I was listening too while posting.
