IMO it is the frame of the regulations that will have the most affect on which 2011 KERS is superior or not.
It looks like Merc are much more serious about KERS than Ferrari. I imagine that in the future half their MBHPE Ltd. could be working on KERS, TERS and turbo compounding rather than on engines.Ferrari, on the basis of the system Magneti Marelli, has spent $ 6 million for its KERS (3.75 M € development and 750,000 euros to support the teams - Ferrari, Sauber and Toro Rosso). By cons, Mercedes-Benz side, investment was 13 million euros!
