if you have put the gearbox in the recommended position, and the chassis isnt illegal then the suspension + wheels will fit, the reason for fuel tank is just so no-one gets silly with dimensions, if your car doesn't look like it has a smaller area than a current F1 car by/ behind the cockpit I am sure that the fuel tank will fit, I have been rather slow with sorting this which I must apologise for, however you must remember after the November test race you will have 3 months at least until the challenge begins, so there is no rush by any means.

The first 3 races will be:
Silverstone
Magny-Cours
Monza

Email for submission, we are working on a file system to do this differently come 2013,

Other tracks are yet to be decided, Richard has to get the data for them and make a tracksim

Amount of races depends entirely on amount of teams, at the moment we are unsure on this so we cannot say at the moment,

Remember, these laptimes are under the ideal circumstances, assuming gear ratios, engine power, suspension, tyres, weight are all perfect, so in reality the laptime may be a bit different

Seeing as there are a few pics around of rival teams cars I thought I would give a sneak peak at what Im working on.
Taken at an angle so to not give too much away.

good shape to the sidepods, i always find the start hard and the end where it joins the engine cover. Mind you i've got a decent solution this year which helps with another problem - but it looks good mate (from what i can see)

Thanks.
I agree, those areas are a PITA to draw. I have started to try new techniques for areas that meet and intersect. I have taken to drawing an additional shape that intersects the two surfaces, so say engine cover and sidepod, this allows me to create a nicer join when you use the 'intersect' function.
All those black areas are due to the amount of detail.

cheers guys.

astra - only a few parts carried over from the previous car(s), Ive gone right back to the start and redrawn components using techniques I have learnt since. The front wing is completely new as is the rear wing and engine cover

etsmc - dont want to give too much away, the part you talked about is a small wing/flow conditioner, much like what McLaren have been using of late but because of the shape of the sidepod I decided not to attach it to the turning vane. My sidepod has quite a U shape to the top of it so my thinking is it will help with the flow across that part.

Maybe I am a bit retarded, but I can't find the email address to submit the car in the website.. :D
Mine is ready for the test race. N12ck do you need some images/rendering for the team page in the website?
