It's also interesting how much smoother the Merc engine is when leaving pits compatre to the others....
They are just pulling the clutch leaver and letting the engine run on idle...

The intake plenum looks reworked. Individually wrapped headers, too.

The exhaust pipes look thicker.

Header placement looks tighter and higher for packaging. The one pipe is hugging the valve cover.

Radiator laid more horizontal.

The headers are actually lower than last year. Not sure about the radiator since the angle of the shot could mask that.

One thing is obvious though, that is easily the neatest/ tidiest package with Honda not too far behind.

I wonder how much the turbo layout actually helps ?

It is more about good planning. The Renault doesn't look bad either. The far worst is the Ferrari . Looks like a mess

Do they still have the water cooler in the chassis?

At some point i am expecting a 3d printed one piece exhaust manifold.

Maybe it's the new engine microphone but I was surprised to hear Lewis buzz the engine in 5th on his qualifying lap. Starting at about 1:10 in this video:

Surely nowhere near the physical rev limit of the engine, but I'd like to know how far over the 10500rpm fuel flow rate formula it is.
