well considering others earlier in the thread claimed montezemolo said ferrari would enter le mans with a car based on laferrari....and also considering that many think this car is carrying the f1 engine...its not an unreasonable 'possibly'

where did Monte say that? http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/111925
Also I doubt you could and would use LaFerrari car as base for an LMP

probably just words translated incorrectly. It seems a possibility that it could use the drive train of the LaFerrari. The engine intake snorkel seems to be the perfect shape/position for an LMP engine

your translation doesn't make it better

Omnicorse says it is indeed a testbed for prototype racing and there's no F1 turbo inside: http://translate.google.de/translate?sl ... er&act=url

what I personally don't believe.

I think it might be useful for both WEC and F1

nikki lauda said recently that merc is testing the new engine on a testmule as well. they build the whole engine in an original chassis that's cut off onwards from the front axle. the back of the car is as slim as it'll be next season.
there are rumors renault is behind the timeschedule and apperantly christian horner asked the teams to delay testing a week but merc did not want to.

LaFerrari being used as a testbed for the F1 V6 Turbo engine? A LMP1 or GT+ prototype? A Maserati prototype? A one-off commissioned by a very wealthy guy?

Notice it is a hybrid: it has the triangular KERS sticker on it.

On this page http://www.gtspirit.com/2014/01/04/ferr ... g-testing/ second picture you can see the centre exhaust pipe?

It is official, iirc that ferreriu has been testing kers and hers on a "f150".

that could mean two cars: or the 2011 f1 car, or LaFerrari, whose internal project name was F150

When was that official? And it cant be the F1 car as testing in F1 cars isn't legal.

Source? Please it is much more beneficial for all forum visiters to judge for they own.

And i must agree with Holm. How that could be done? (F150 is mark for Ferrari 2011)? So how you can get around rules?

Obviously this F150:

Red even. And enough space for KERS, HERS & 4 passengers.

This is the source
http://autosprint.corrieredellosport.it ... -f1/12432/

It reads "kers and hers have been mounted on a f150 to test their reliability" - so yes, paul may be right they could have mounted them on the ford pickup for an easier packaging.
As far as the rule banning f1 installation, is it valid also for 2011 cars?
Ferrari has circumvented that more than one time this year for tyre and aero tests, using a 2 years old car run by corse clienti

I think 2011 cars are valid. I think it is the pervious two years that are not allowed.
