It is said that nothing mechanical (in this case engine) can be 100 percent 'perfect'.

You are very welcome! Andy and James Allison are both fantastic interviews. James Allison's Beyond the Grid interview was great, too, if you haven't had the chance to listen to that one yet.

Peter Windsor dropping what was most certainly news to me on the Ferrari PU saga near the tail end of this video (right about the 9:04 mark).

Apparently, once Merc figured out what Ferrari was doing last year, they said (privately, behind the scenes) that they weren’t going to protest, but if actions weren’t taken, they were going to implement the measures themselves.

You need to click recommend, then click on the stats(bars) and then click on the x, then again on the up vote and finally again on recommend. I think its designed to be a fail safe of some sort so ppl don't keep getting ipbotes.

Or may simply be a design fault.

Not really. He is just explaining the engine modes, that's all.

I got word that Mercedes have been developing a new intake concept for the last year which will be ready for the start of 2021 and is expected to bring a good step in performance.

The new architecture will be visibly different and the engine cover will have to be compromised slightly to accommodate it but the aero loss is said to be small compared to the power gained.
