It's looking really great so far. I'm really enjoying watching your progress. Keep up the good work.

Hi All,

Update on the progess, I've now moved on to the painting stage, but still have a few parts to produce. It's taken a long time to get the surface up to scratch, and the split lines between parts nice and tight. I've added a couple of layers of white primer to the parts that will be painted with a white top coat, sanding between each layer. I was surprised at how shiny and smooth the surface actually is already!

The front wing is held on the nose pylons with 4xM1 bolts. It's not attached in the photos neither are the sidepod pylons. I need to get more bolts, I keep snapping them!

I'm going to use decal paper with a carbon fibre print to wrap all the carbon fibre surfaces of the car, hopefully making it look really realistic.

Also on the look out for sponsor or buyer!! :|

Seriously cool...

One question; how quick is this car compared to a similarly powered/weight car with suspension? Does it skip all over the road, or is it OK?

Thanks All, I can't wait to get the car running!

Hi machin, from my experience the ride is ok, I had an F201 a few years ago and set the front so stiff it didn't really have suspension anyway. On this car the camber and caster angle can be changed. The ride height is fixed, I may change the uprights to allow adjustability of the ride height, but first I'll see how it runs.

How did you create that Front Wing?

You could have just looked back to the previous page...

He said he got it rapid prototyped.

Hi Monster Energy F1,

Like jordangp pointed out, the front wing has been rapid prototyped. I thought it was the best thing to do,

1. It would take ages to get the level of detail I wanted.
2. I would need to produce it out of a number of parts so it wouldn't have been that strong.
3. It's the part that I'm must likely to damage, so I rather crash a part the I havent spent a lot of time on!

Sorry I didn't make myself clear: What does rapid prototype mean?

Probably the best videos. Red Bull had a great one ages ago but seems to have disappeared in Vettel 2011 fashion.

Do you think you could rapid prototype parts for other people within F1T?

 I wouldn't count on it. It can be pretty pricey.
