Am I wrong in that Alonso has 7 active engines from which to rotate through going into the Chinese GP?
And Massa has all 8 engines to rotate from as well??
Albeit some at a limited capacity.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I won't mind.

So all in all, Massa has 8, 7 usable in race. Alonso has 7, 6 usable in race, correct?
Everyone else who hasn't blown an engine has about 8, with all 8 usable in races? Actually was Vettel's Bahrain problem fixable? Can he use that engine again?

And the reason why I said that the first set of Bahrain engines can't be used for races is because they overheated and shouldn't be trusted in race conditions where points are at risk. The overheating plus the mileage accrued relegates them to FP's and possibly qualy.

The engine cannot be used in qual or race by rule. Yeap. So to conclude, Alonso has 1 engine only FP-able, 1 engine completely out, and another which is still usable for all states. So he has 6 "raceable" engines. Bulk has 7. But I don't think they'd want to use that again as it's seen 3 race distances, no?
Also, does anyone know whether Vettel's Bahrain engine problem ate up an engine so he can't use it again?

The Bahrain race engines will be reused in China... So they'll have done the Bahrain GP and the China weekend. Alonso also said once that "he can still use the one in Melbourne." So Alonso has used 4 engines so far? Bahrain quali, Bahrain race, Melbourne race, Sepang race (the one that blew up), no?

I thought Fernando said it was "the one they replaced" after quali. The Bahrain quali engine was replaced by the bahrain race engine. Meaning this would be the bahrain quali engine.

Does his failure count against his eight? Does the old Bahrain engine that failed in practice also count against him? I thought that failure to finish a race due to engine didn't count? Or am I wrong? Again.
