Indeed! Notice that the front wheels are exceptionally tiny and narrow, since all the front cornering forces are carried by the slot guide pin.
Next item:
It's time to remember the Williams FW13.

Actually we're both wrong. I think its the 35. And I'm now noticing it looks like the shark fin was photoshopped off. Which really emphasizes the shape of the rear bodywork.
Yeah roon, that swoopy Lambo Miura shape.. sure looked 'aero', but actually suffered excess lift at high speed..
As did.. the Lola-Ford.. of similar vintage.. so ugly add-ons.. fins/strakes/spoilers/dams & etc.. were also tried..

Is that strange active wing being used to help prevent oversteer? What downforce it produces is being pointed to the inside of the corner helping to prevent the tail coming around. Most odd. Funny to watch the wing wobbling as the steering wheel is wobbled by the driver's hands - presumably caused by track bumps.

Looks like a solution looking for a problem...
It makes perfect sense, though I think it looks too weird. And possibly also too slow in response.
But it makes perfect sense to angle the downforce toward the inside wheel, so the force is more evenly distributed. It's an aerodynamic version of a roll bar.
