and once again we get an dumba$$ referee wich does not know the word 'offside', that goal wasnt conform rules as way before that it was offside. Also with the fouls made, the netherlands 9 times yellow, Spain three, im pretty sure that robben should have got that penalty when that guy behind him fell while he was actually pulling his shirt. Once again an very unfair way to win, I would mind if Spain had won in a fair way, but as always with the netherlands that doesnt happen and they have an one-sided referee

I am still so angry about the British Grand Prix I don't really feel like celebrating. In any case, I don't really see the complaints about the goal. It could have been the two beers I drank before, though.

Oh! And I wouldn't really complain about the yellow cards. The dutch played really hard today.

true they did, but there were a few very clear fouls by spain where the referee did nothing.

actually, i think the dutch were rather lucky with the referee, he couldve handed out a red card for that kung fu kick by De Jong in the 28th minute. i fear that wouldve been it for the netherlands as they played so badly anyway. both teams seemed to struggle but at least spain managed to avoid hundreds of misplaced passes.

all in all that was about the worst world cup final ive ever had to endure
the amount of yellow cards really speaks for itself.

not sure if spain is the right winner though, but at least its not the wrong one they were clearly better tonight, though not convincing in my book.. for a world champion that is.

The ref was on their side. It was like he was paid off. Everytime iniesta went to the ground he flashed out a card.
Also the goal would not have happened if he gave Holland a free kick after elia was double teamed by 2 defenders on the edge of the box.

I didn't bother to watch the race....ähh..match. Looks like I made no mistake. Finals often tend to be very defensively fought affairs and seldom good to watch.

On the whole a very enjoyable tournament with some beautiful matches. Another four year break of soccer for me now.

Where is the world going to when a team like the Spanish can win world cups. They play the most boring football there is. The Dutch weren't very good yesterday, but that ref made some critical mistakes in the last 10 minutes.

The player was offside! by a MILE!!!! IF the side-line referee didn't see Holland offside like twice. We could have scored to!

And i don't know if you know this fact but Howard Webb gave the MOST Yellow cards of all the referee's in the Whole World Cup!! So he is just a little cry baby who can't stand a proper match of football!

I do agree that perhaps they've tried to create plays from too far back. However, many teams have gone the catenaccio style against Spain. Switzerland, Portugal, Paraguay, you name it. The first team that really tried to do something different was Germany, and we all know how that ended.

However, Torres has been so awful it's been like playing with 10. Spain's style requires a lot of movement from all the attackers to find a space, and in a few games Torres has been very static. In all of them he's been slow. The injuries this season have taken their toll on him.

I think the yellow card was itching in his pocket! That is why he gave away that much Yellow cards! Respect for Heitinga for staying so cool under getting a Red card. I would have hit the referee !
