Hi everyone
My name is Amedeo, I'm from Italy, and my biggest passions are F1 and motorport in general.
I am a Mechanical Engineer, and I have just been hired as an R&D Engineer in a renowned clutch company (AP Automotive Products, part of Raicam Clutch Group ltd).
I've been wondering around this forum as a reader for quite a while now, so I've decided to register and take an active part to the tech discussions.
Hope we will get on well
Cheers

Hey everybody
My name is crypted, I'm 19 years old and from Switzerland. I'll start my studies in IT this september.
I'm pretty much interested in formula 1, my favourite driver is Sebastian Vettel ; But the most fascinating thing for me in Formula 1 is the techinal aspect.
I was in search for a formula 1 forum , where I can discuss about my favourite sport, and this forum seems pretty decent, so I just signed up
I hope we'll have good discussions together and that I can contribute to them

Hello all, I'm a 22-year-old American engineering student with an MET major and a lifelong love of motorsports. I've got ambitions to learn CFD and aerodynamics and understand the designs behind the greatest cars of Formula One and someday develop a racing car. I've perused the F1Technical blog to that end, and have a bit of a fascination with banned technology and developmental dead-ends. Something about them all is just charming to me.
I'm also more than a bit imaginative, and aside from racing have a passion for video games, Japanese animation, writing and drawing. The username comes from my favorite visual novel, for example.
I hope to enjoy my stay here.

I've been reading the forum for ages, decided to join 1 and a half year ago, but only introducing myself now
You can call me Matt, I'm 26 years old from Switzerland, have been involved in the car world for many years now, in the garage and behind the computer screen, and I'm gonna start a MSc at Brookes in September ! Forgive my English, its not my native language (I speak french, bit of german, bit of czech, bit of finnish).
Glad to find a place with interesting topics and discussions, although I haven't got time to read the posts in the F1 cars section (too little time for this) !
Hopefully I can meet some members in Oxford when I'm moving there in 2 and a half months !

Hello Everyone,
This is Jackuar, from India.
I'm an IT guy (as common with many Indians) and an avid fan of F1 and Ferrari. I'm a team-fan (and not an individual driver fan) - meaning I support anyone who drives for Ferrari. That means, I hated Alonso at Renault but right now, he's my favourite driver. Michael and Senna are my other favourites (Though Senna didn't drive for Ferrari, but that's an exception).
I learned about F1 only in my late teens - so that explains why Michael - and Senna, well, I simply read about him and he attracts me as a person as equally as a driver. Learned that he is one of the very humble people in the sport.
Otherwise, I'm a complete know-nothing-guy here. I wouldn't term that 'Noob' coz I do intend to learn something here. I have no technical knowledge regarding cars or mechanicals - My college major is not that - its electronics ad communications but still cars have always fascinated me and the way F1 demands extracting the tiniest advantage out of every single iota fascinates me.
I would rarely make a technical comment here - but otherwise would involve in giving my opinion - hopefully not rarely.
This forum is amazing and the discussion, knowledge and people here are... wow..!! I have already been following here for more than a month though I activated my account only now - so to post any replies...
Anyway, I hope to hang in here, get good conversations with ppl and have fun..! Cheers everyone..!!

I have very shallow knowledge of Formula One racing. Back then, watching F1 was purely "killing time". I'll watch the race on analogue TV, only IF i came across it by accident (endlessly changing channels). By 1998, as soon as I've entered college, I've been hearing of F1 from classmates and it seems they're pretty much updated. They had cable TV, I didn't -- my life back then was somewhat a "primitive" one so my news on F1 was a questionable one with an aerial antenna to capture signal for my visual entertainment.
I've heard of this man named Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakinnen... with the former storming the sport every race weekend. I lost track of F1 as soon as I graduated college by 2002. By 2004, I hear some folks that Ferrari almost made the sport dull because of their driver and car supremacy for a very long time already. By 2005 and 2006, I completely lost track of the sport and even automobile enthusiasm as a whole with the kind of lifestlye I temporarily landed on.
By 2007, I tried catching up on F1 -and I was curious how the Great Schumacher was finally defeated by a young Spaniard... a news I was suprised with and this perhaps triggered my interest in the sport once more. I have heard things from tires to rule changes being the culprit to the Ferrari driver's defeat. For the first time I've heard of "tires, single keel, v-keel, zero keel, side pods, nose winglets, mass dampers, etc... what the F* are those?
I also happened to collect diecast cars, so by that same period, I decided to look for F1 car miniatures in 1:18 scale, and I was surprised by the look of F1 cars as soon as I saw them... they were no longer just plain open wheel cars, they are freaking loaded with small winglets and almost "organic" forms and shapes on the car's bodies -- even the front nose that would conventionally be as low to the ground has now reached a certain amount of elevation. I was surprised with the kind of evolution F1 cars has become.
I've been observing the technical aspect of the sport, and this takes crucial part of my interest of the sport itself today. I was no longer interested with the drivers, for me, any driver "can be", and I became more interested with the cars. I've been browsing the internet occassionally for F1 info-technical, and often came across this website, however, I never decided to join until today. For me, the cars on its own, was on a very competetive warfare... not the drivers.
So, basically today, my primary objective is to be able to read more of this info, be updated, try to evaluate the "guess work" I have inside my head (i.e. how those current designs work) and be able to find out if I have the same thoughts as others do. Registering in the website, in my belief, will allow me to dig more information and photos (more importantly) than just browsing as a guest.

Hi everyone! I have been watching F1 since childhood in the mid 80s. Favourite drivers over that time include Senna, Alesi, Hill, Zanardi, Hakkinen, Montoya, Raikkonen and Alonso. Never been one to support any particular team, but I find that as I get older, my appreciation for all drivers increasing to the point I don’t dislike any driver.. Even Vettel after boring me to death last year!
