Royall engine was a strait eight.
Twin plugs, because the original design was for an aircraft.

I think you are talking about where the cam chain goes thru ..I was laughing at the old style points and condenser ignition system

Great pic of the coventry engine there. Looks like they used slide valves for their mechanical injection. Great stuff

Shouldn't those collectors be a little larger or are they trying to produce a small amount of back pressure?
