The second generation of the Lotus Elise in the color solar yellow. A realy uncompromised car, I saw one when I was something like 8 and I immediately fell in love with it.

Realistic dream car would be Alfa Romeo 4C.
Coolest thing to hit the market in a while.
Carbon monocoque, 800 something kilos, RWD, mid-engined, double-clutch trans, 240 something horses.
All that adds up to a fun factor of one million.

-light weight (the new M6 is over 4000 pounds! I would probably draw the line at 2500.)
-drivetrain layout negotiable
-rear wheel drive only (all-wheel-drive diminishes the purity IMO)
-no ABS
-no traction control
-no stability control
-no launch control
-probably no power steering
-manual transmission
-probably naturally aspirated
-'enough' power, which probably means anything over 300 is fine
Probably why I'm in love with the GT40 replicas. (Though the Ferrari supporting part of my brain is not happy about this.)
You want that new Subaru/Toyota
You want an F40 (and I agree so much with your post.)
Or even more realistic:

I hope this works....

Tesla S, as a company car.
I've also always had a weird soft spot in my heart for a classic Soviet limo like an early ZiS. My company would not get one of those for me, though.

McLaren F1 LM. Even if I win lottery some day Ron won't sell it, so there are really only 2 options : winning 3 WDC for McLaren or marrying Ron's daughter.

Very difficult to pick one. The 1994 F1 that Murray did has to be at the top. I once seen one! it was parked in London. I think the thing that draws me to it is the N/A V12. The sound that thing makes is absolutely amazing. Brutal power. No drive aids. Its my type of thing but so is a Zonda. Dear god the sound of the Zonda.

My dream car is the caterham 620 R. Really i love it.
And for everyday use I'm sure I will buy a fiat panda cross 4x4 to go everywhere in the mountains. I love little cars since my mother bought a lancia y10 turbo long time ago. That car was lovely to drive ahah
