Dunno what did i wrong.
Close all the OpenFOAM related windows and check in Oracle VM VirtualBox if the default machine is running. If yes, turn it off and try starting OpenFOAM again.

Did you get any errors from OF_Env_Create?
I did but the screen closed before i could take a screenshot. Should i try to run it again? The guide says run only once.

how on earth do I create the default machine in virtual box with a boot2docker.iso? I don't understand, please someone explain...?

edit: sorry, my bad, corrupted installation of openfoam. I reinstalled, ran the shortcut and I see it now :)

Have you run the OF_env_create shortcut?

Try running the shortcut with and without admin rights but check the VM software both with and w/o admin rights if the default machine is running and turn it off if necessary.

we could have continued to grow, but we wanted "more cooling"....
Why are you soo salty about the cooling dude? Race cars needs cooling, and the competition is about race cars.
I agree with Ft5fTL. Cooling simulation is more important than (for example) wheels rotation in a race car.

Is you car complete? I remember some stunning renderings, but I am convinced that my car (not the fastest one), despite being compliant with cooling requirements, is faster than yours without cooling devices.

Ok, WFlow works perfectly: I have the OF case ready to be launched.

Wich is the exact command line to launch "runCase.sh" from the OF1606+ console?
Using the default directory (C:\Users\Matteo) and typing "runCase.sh" I obtain:

Code: Select all

C:\WINDOWS\system32>"C:\Program Files (x86)\ESI\OpenFOAM\1606\Windows\Scripts\of_start_container.exe" -Arguments "C:\Program Files\Docker Toolbox\;C:\Program Files\Git\bin"
Starting "default"...
Machine "default" is already running.
of_plus_1606
[ofuser@default ~]$ runCase.sh
bash: runCase.sh: command not found
[ofuser@default ~]$

Hi Matteo good work, you are very close.
Just run:

Code: Select all

./runCase.sh
Full points will be awarded from the first race on. Same scheme like last year.

I have updated the post-processing utility for Windows. I did not change version number. Just download the files again and use the new utility.

In case anyone already has had successful runs with the case setup in MantiumWFlow please send the logs. Even good logs will be useful at this point.

I do not think that this cooling discussion will at any point be of any value. The reality for every engineer is that aspects of any product or machine cannot be developed with disregard and isolation to other attributes. Most of the time improvements of one attribute will be at cost of another one. Here is a small link about this:

I still receive the message "command not found", there is something wrong with the virtual machine I can't understand.

try:
bash runCase.sh

That's how I ran the test case.

Are you sure that you are in the case folder?

Of course this is a camo livery, i will present the official Livery in the next few weeks. I would like to partecipate in the Intro-class, but this car, was built on the 2016 KVRC model, so can I join to the championsip with this car ?

You will need to sort the cooling as the Intro class isnt compliant with the cooling regs.

Looks like it won't be offered for round 1, sorry. There's probably not going to be enough time to adapt the supplied parts to the opt2 cooling rules.

ok, so I've followed all the instructions, and when I type 'cd mvrc_testCase2share' it says there is no file or directory with that name, despite me unpacking it in the shared folder
any ideas?
