Il motore turbo Ferrari F1 2014 si chiama 059/3 (no, non è quello della foto) e dovrà consumare max 135 litri

"The turbo engine Ferrari F1 2014 is called 059/3 (no, it is one of the photo) and will consume up to 135 liters."

It is or is not?

IMO that oil tank is the V8's oil tank... Other pics of the new V6 feature a smaller oil tank...

afaik, "no, non é quello della foto" correctly translates to "no, not the one on the foto". I'm not a native italian speaker tho.

The rumours say the engine is fabricated using "exotic" and "lightweight" material, and that Ferrari banned anyone who would ask questions.

Interesting, what does 059/3 mean? It should have been 057 but they skipped two numbers and there's this /3 thing. Perhaps it is a third iteration of V6 engine?

According to Italian media, Ferrari are so protective over their newest creation that select journalists were only shown a 3D render.....

... & they were only allowed to hear a sound clip. No technical journalists allowed, no cameras or recorders. Not even SKY or BBC permitted

In fact, the only detail we have is the name, 059/3

That sure sounds like Ferrari. I guess there was no reason to look forward to their reveal.

057: the name of the engine which development was stopped by engine freeze in 2007
058: discontinued I-4 engine project based on original regulations for 2013 season

...so this is why new power unit is called 059, although not sure about "/3" ...maybe already third version?

Is it really possible to make the engine out of extreme materials?? Are all the materials allowed not specified in the regulations??? Must take a look at that later.
