That's some serious performance, Yinlad. Well done.
The Pink Panther is looking good

Final car for this season! Even though we had a big break between the races, I did not have that much free time on my hands, so I don't expect anything crazy. I focused a lot on meeting the cooling limit and tried to experiment with different airfoils for the front and rear wings.

I enjoyed very very much taking part in this championship and I'd like to thank everyone that makes this competition possible. Still a lot to learn from my side and looking forward for the next year!! :D

Great cars,
on one side, bad that the season and once more a year is over.
However, I am happy and looking forward into how MFlow and MVRC finally find their way into the cloud.

I wish everyone the results they expect.
The fight for P3 will hopefully be interesting.
I have had a first view on the GRaph car and to me it looks like he will score a perfect season which has never happened in KVRC or MVRC. So, lets hope that this team takes the end of the year to simply relax and enjoy an amazing season.

Car sent for this 5th and final race.
Small changes, but in important areas.

Well, good to know that he didn't stop developing the car. Hopefully, he didn't spend too much time on it...

Good luck everyone for the last race! There are still some important positions at stake.

I'm surprised by Andre's comments as my Race 05 car is essentially the Race 04 car with the old fences from Races 01/02/03. There are a few small modifications to the beamwing, diffuser and cooling louvres, but nothing significant. Sorry I haven't had time to produce the usual GIF.

Expectations from the fast template is similar Cl and efficiency as the first 2 races, but with the correct CoP from Race 04.

Having said that, I'm hoping it would perform better than that  , because the fast template doesn't show some issues like the official results.
For the first 3 races there was a large flow separation on the side of the bodywork. I fixed this for race 04 with the extra vane, but then I got a flow separation on the new fences arrangement instead. So hopefully both are behaving as intended for the final race.

Sad to see that this is the last race of this years competition. It probably had the tightest grid of the history of this competition. Happy to be in the mix.

So the last entrance of this year is the updated version that i introduced on COTA. Updates include a new front wing, heavily revised floor and smaller cooling openings on sidepods. Performance goals is aroud -3.6 cl/cd on this one.

Sorry I hadn't time for a cool rendering: this is the car for the last race of 2023.
I am very happy with the level of understanding of the flows I achived during this challenge, the efficiency is excellent but the overall donwforce is not yet such as to aim for victory (I have faint hopes in the fact that the use of rapid simulation may reveal surprises).

By the way, which OpenFoam release is going to be used by the new HPC service for MVRC?

I was just looking at the car and did not really compare. When looking at it, it just looks like a winner...

These development histories are really cool. I hope more people can share like this.

The race is going on. All cars are running now.
To keep up with the pace, I have finished the renders and scrutineering.
CAEdevice is the first and only team to score a penalty!
While bad for him, I think it was great to see how you all were able to stick to the rules with the cars having the best quality since MVRC exists.

Thanks for publishing the renders so fast. I always love seeing how everyone develop their car (good job Max on these under nose bargeboards).

It's a shame that the race for the podium might be decided in the stewards' room, but I have to admit that CAE's cooling chimney looks suspiciously outside the regulation box. Or is it something else?

It was high time i copied that solution!
I could've won at Monza and COTA if i had implemented it earlier... But fair enough, you deserved this championship anyway.

The penalty is for mirrors overlapping with provided mirrors.

From my point of view that is not a "submission of mandatory part" but just overlapping volume of the car body with provided mandatory components, that also happens with other volumes (i.e. airscope box).

But yes, my fault since I have not noticed it (I have been using this mirrors for many races) despite it is quite a simple area to check, compared to floor or diffuser.

Anyway, not a big loss: I am more interested to the performance growth than to the podium, considering that, optimistically, I would have been struggling for second or third place.

Hi together!

I'm a little late this time, but others have again presented some nice developments. So here is my car for Round 5 - Interlagos and the comparison to Round 4!

Image

I had some difficulties in the development, as some promising developments didn't work in combination with others, so I hit a dead end a few times during the last weeks. That said I managed to make the cooling a little more efficient, which means I could keep my drag low with a moderate increase in downforce (~5%).

Main changes are:
New Rearwing Endplates/Beamwing: more outwash helping the diffusor. Causes an exposed wing tip on the flap.
Front Wheel Deflector & Outer Floor Fence: Management of the front wheel wake.
Mirrorstruts & Sidepods: Feed high quality air towards the beamwing/diffusor area.
Floor: small changes to increase early expansion and reduce losses in the diffusor.

Looking forward to next year, but also to a small brake after this exciting season.
Maybe I use the time off to improve my rendering skills.. :D

Now that the season is officially over (results pending) is it time to discuss regs for 2024? I mentioned running our closest guesstimation to 2026 regs a while back, but I wonder if it's a year too soon for that. I don't think there's much of a solid foundation to work from other than a single artistic render.

Another year with an evolution of the rules we have now would certainly provide a close field based on where many teams have got to so far this year.
Some choice reg box changes could be enough to keep it interesting.

Ultimately the decision is Andre's of course, but my nerd brain gets excited at the thought of discussing regulations.

Having seen how close the results are for this final race (should be published soon) I would very much like to see everyone continue to develop these cars. It's especially interesting given the mix of high and low downforce solutions, I could see a lot of race wins coming down to who's car best suits a given track.
