I think it would be great to see some additional volumes in the areas shown above, it would open up the options for rear of car development a ton.
I’d also like to see a means to create more freedom in suspension fairings. I think removing the mandatory arms and using a series of RS_* surfaces that must be covered could be a good way to do this without inviting extreme solutions.
Now that we have the CFD HPC available I’d love to see some selective mesh changes so we can get away from the 10mm minimum thickness rules in some places.
I’m sure I’ll come up with some more in time and look forward to the off season discussions.
Best of luck to all competing in the final race of the year
Those photos are interesting. I would very much like to have volumes on a sensitive spot like that.
I agree with the suspensions. A bit more freedom would be nice.
I believe i proposed lowering the 10mm rule on some parts before the season start. That rule is as old as the competition (i had a i5 2500k with 8 gigs of ram back then). Even without the CloudHPC i think we can afford the additional computation that brings the thickness rule change.
Hi, I believe that the lower limit of 10 mm is not so much due to the mesh, because an even smaller thickness like 5 mm would probably still be manageable with the current settings, but rather to the handling of cusps in the wing section. In my view, one could consider either enforcing a minimum angle between the tangents of the airfoil’s upper and lower surfaces at the trailing edge, or imposing a 2 mm trailing-edge fillet radius. This would allow removing the 10 mm rule or reducing it to 5 mm. I also agree that a 10 mm thickness is excessive in many areas.

After a very turbulent year, it’s finally time for the last race.
This will be my contender, and I’m hoping for a clean weekend and a strong finish to the season

Krasen

Good morning everyone,
I was traveling for over a week now and only today I am checking what we have for our final race of 2025.
There are submissions from these teams:
Aerostar Racing
CAEdevice
Hermes Motorsport
JJR Racing
Kostov Racing
Lillieskold Design
Pure Power Racing
I will start preparing the cars today but still assume, results will have to wait until next Sunday.
(I took note of the suggestions for next year, I will ask again a bit after the season is over, so start thinking about what you would like to see in 2026.)
Re: [MVRC] Mantium Virtual Racecar Challenge 2025 (Grand Prix Cars)
I have also finished up scrutineering. Only one penalty for Aerostar. Our new team Lilliskold had a pretty clean car but it also collected some flags, but not enough for a penalty as everything was pretty close (well not the rear mirror surfaces...):
AeroStar Racing: 2.3, 2.5, 9.1
Kostov Racing: 2.2
Lillieskold Design: 2.5, 12.1, 13.4

Super race, but what happened to JJR?
Thanks to the technical staff (André, Max, Christian) for this interesting season: I think we finally managed to simulate and anticipate very well the principles we'll find in the 2026 F1 car. Finally, congratulations to JJR for his first and well-deserved title.

You guys sure about the results? That is a massive 0.5cl loss from my sim results.
-4.8 cl Well done Matteo, well deserved victory.

Great result, really well done. Impressive numbers indeed. But I shall petition for the 2007(ish) era side pod wings and additional diffuser/floor strakes to be banned for next year to keep us more in the spirit of 2026 rules.
I’ve already started on next years car, I’m working in a new and much more ‘professional’ CAD program now so need to get to grips with it. My aim will be to produce something that’s as in line with real cars so I don’t expect to be that competitive if some MCRV style loopholes are exploited. But I do expect to have a nicely modelled car

I agree

What a race Matteo! Congratulations!
This time I was shooting in to dark with my front wing as my car was always rear biased downforce and I must shoot in to my rear tyres .
I redesigned my car from zero point. I learned serious cad software ( I was still using sketchup until Monza) so I´m glad to make this step. It doesnt paid of for this race but it was fun process between Monza and Interlagos.
Thanks again to all MVRC staff to made it adventure for us possible.

Looking at the results, you now surprised me the most as well. But interesting to hear about you switching tools. I have noticed that you started using MFlow, so hearing about a new CAD system is an unexpected step. Lets see how it pays off next year.
Anyway, you carried the championship better into the goal than this strange papaya team in this other weird championship is doing. So, good job and congratulations to the MVRC Championship 2025!
Also many thanks to the team behind the scenes. It was great working with you all during the season. It was in interesting one. I esp. remember when we were questioning your results and started using other lap time sims and also racing sims to make sure we are on the right track.
And, I realized, I am also thankful to all the teams. It is actually always a pleasure dealing with all of you. I know, sometimes, there are situations that are not fun but everyone was always respectful. And in others, people were also always nice and made very good suggestions and so on. So for me it is fun to continue doing this crazy championship.
I am looking forward to next year. And keep in mind, we now have the "new" rules and just have to adopt for the next one. Everything will be easier and smoother (except that I jinxed it now....).
But as happy as I am, I am also happy with a short rest, before the work starts for MVRC 2026.
Oh yes, also congratulations to CAEdevice. Another nice victory! Good work!

Any news about the reports? I really like to see what went wrong on my sim.

Ho ho ho,
looks like Santa MVRC finally did some of his work: https://mantiumchallenge.com/cfd-images ... mvrc-2025/
Just in case you are now wondering why the cars are from various races, collecting these nice images was harder than I thought. Not every team alawys submits a car and also there were issues with the reports. Sometimes they do not contain all images. This is something I obviously have to check out during our winter break.
