Hi!
I would like to register for the upcoming Mantium Challenge season and I would appreciate some information regarding a few points:
Could you please let me know when the regulations will be released and when the season is expected to start.
I would also like to know whether the championship is based on a common base car and if the allowed improvements are full car evolutions or only aerodynamic setup changes.
Additionally, who is responsible for the CFD work; and also if i need to have x and z modes.
Finally, I would appreciate it if you could highlight any important aspects or requirements to take into account beyond aerodynamic considerations as I am an aerospace engineer and already familiar with that side of the project.
Thank you very much for your time and information.

MVRC 2026 proposal.
Hi, this is a personal and non official proposal, so it would of course need to be reviewed and approved by the staff.
Any review, checks, suggestions, and criticism will be very welcome.
I’ve prepared a small update to the 2026 geometry. Overall, I would say that about 99% of the volumes are unchanged. The only modifications concern details inferred from photos of the new cars, and
the only really significant change is a rearward shift of roughly 100 mm of the front suspension pickup points on the chassis. This is clearly a compromise, since we cannot cover all the solutions currently seen in Formula 1, but it is meant to move the model in the general direction of the new cars.
I have also slightly extended the allowed volumes for the front brake ducts, again based on what can be seen in the available images. As for the rear of the car, I have not introduced any changes yet, simply because at the moment we do not have enough material to justify them.
From my point of view, it would also make sense to slightly reduce the overall
cooling flow. Instead of the current 2.3 cubic meters per second, I would suggest going down to 2.2 or even 2.0 cubic meters per second for the airflow through the radiators.
For the sake of transparency, I plan to share these updates on the forum so they are available to everyone.

By the way, do we need a new thread for MVRC2026 on the forum?

Hi everyone,
we’ve finally reached the 2025 and 2024 awards, with the 2024 one still not awarded for organizational reasons. The winners are
Team G-Raph (2024) and
Team JJR (2025).
Congratulations again to both!
The T-shirt was designed by the Staff, and we really appreciate the particularly elaborate graphic design. We ask the winners, in order to send the prize, to write an email to our sponsor CAEdevice (
[email protected] ), indicating the shipping address, the model, and the chosen size. On the website indicated below there is a guide for choosing the sizes.

There is some additional surfaces-winglets that looks pretty much same on 3 different cars at the sides of the diffuser:

I noticed them, but I couldn’t find any reference to them in the official rules (I don’t have the latest version). Could we add them based on visual estimation?

Yeah this was something I noticed even on the show cars we saw from the fia months ago. A spec part with some freedom of placement and rotation within a volume I think. Would be good to have our own approximated version, same for the lower deflector on the front wheels

Nice one. How should we proceed with discussions wrt 2026? Should they take place here to keep the 2026 thread clean, or in the 2026 thread to make finding said discussions easier at a later date?

I will soon start doing my part on starting the new season. Step one is always to build a new registration page, even if the rules are not out yet. But you can still register for the old season. This makes sure you are in the email list and will receive an invite to the new season.
The championship is a pretty pure CFD / aero thing. But if the car does not get enough cooling, you loose engine performance. Most teams struggle with this the most. You can check the old threads, every season starts with complaints that cooling is too difficult to achieve. But you can also check the data, after two races most teams have this sorted out.
And you can take old cars that have been published, but you will enjoy designing and improving everything from scratch a bit more.
I am not sure on how to handle X and Z modes yet. I am working on improving overall CFD turnaround times. So if this takes to much resources, it might be best to wait a bit with this. This will include fixing the post-processing issues. They originated from an idea to reduce memory consumption during post-processing. Turned into a nice occasional issue for some teams...
Thank you for this. I need to check it out.

Yepp, someone should open a new thread. Who wants to have to honor?

I started a new thread to 2026:
viewtopic.php?p=1325950#p1325950
Making that one sticky and un-stickying this one, but of course both stay open.
