I confirm what LDVH wrote. Are you using Paraview 3.9.8 (3.9.8.1)? 4.0.0 sometimes causes that error.

LVDH wrote:Hi,
I do not use OCCFD but this sounds like you did not or incorrectly installed Paraview.
pybatch is the executable that creates the pretty pictures (in batch).
You should check if you can run Paraview, then if you can start it from command line and then if you can start pvbatch.
Hello, thanks for this information. Am I right in thinking that paraview has to already be running when I execute one clock cfd onto an stl file?
Or is this a paraview installation issue which necessitates a reinstallation of paraview?
Thanks in advance

On the homepage it says that OCCFD supports:
v3.98.0, v3.98.1, v4.1.0, v.4.2.0, v4.3.0, v4.3.1, v4.4
In my experience every Paraview has its very own bugs, so you might have to experiment which one works for you.
And pvbatch is something that will run in batch mode so I do not think that you should already have it running.
But you should check if your most beautiful OS can run the command "pvbatch".

Ah, thanks. I will try Parkview 4.4. I think the issue is that I'm using v5.0
thanks again

I installed paraview 4.4, and tried to run occfd again, and it ran successfully for about 30 minutes, then it threw this error
I don't know what it means
help is very much appreciated
thanks

Hi everybody, I don't have the data from occfd with me, so I can't check the bc files.
I was wondering if the bc applied to the inlet/outlet cooling surfaces are a flow (larger surface means lower air speed) or a velocity.
Thanks
@AlonsoFan: I can't read the text in your image, but I would try with Paraview 3.9.8(.1).

@CAEdevice thanks for the suggestion, I shall try that version next
The error reads
"The simulation did not run properly. Check the log output for error messages.
Backtrace [a file path which leads to foamhandler.rb] 'block in solve' "
This might help further
Thanks for the belp

Are you using OpenFoam 2.3 and occfd 1.1.005? It seems the "parallelization" issue.

For the option 1 it is a specified volumetric flow rate, so larger surface equals lower velocity.

Look into the log: at the end of the document you should find as many "openMPI" errors as the logical processors.

If so, I think Julien will provide a solution very soon.

Sorry, I'm a complete novice. Where will I find the log?

In the case folder, with the same name of the folder (I rely on my memory...)
