I think the FIA classify an aerofoil element as a closed loop, so these would be classed as elements.

Is that right? Would that mean that any cambered plate on an F1 car would not be considered an aerodynamic element?

Does anybody remember the full span third 'element' on the BAR car late last year? The front wing is pretty much a free-for-all within the required dimensions.

you mean the element that stretched from the FWEP to the nose? Yeah I remember it...they introduced it at Spa I think.

Your right, the FW is one area of a modern F1 car where designers can be a little more revolutionary...or at least they can have their own very distinct design philosophies.

Just look at whenever the rules for the FW change...we see so many different ideas (2001 & 2005)

Saw on the Autosport cover today that the FW28 could be a real winner. Will read the article when I get home to my posted copy.
I'll be certainly cheering on Williams this year. The only truly independent/traditional F1 team with a good chance. :D

I just hope they don't lose out too much this year by switching rubber. I know they would have had to do it either this year or next but I just want to see them have a strong year. Running Wurz as a Friday tester will definetely help their cause!

wurz is great, I've always liked that guy, I think he's going to add alot to the team. I think webber is good too, he's passionate about racing (if a little impulsive), but it'll be great to see him in a competitive car.
