BrawnGP certainly has strong influence from Ferrari's past or Ross Brawn especially with those horizontally mounted brake calipers. On the diffuser, I have seen few illustrations here showing the 'hole' Brawn created was to extract air but I believe it is quite the opposite, to draw in air to the upper diffuser to replicate a larger diffuser
I also like how Brawn designed the sidepods with the radiator inlet ahead of everything else which seems to minimalize vertical movement with pressure change.

Just read this from
http://www.itv-f1.com/news_article.aspx?id=45974
"At the beginning of the season I think the car suited him a little bit more, especially given the problems that I've been having with the rear brakes being too hot," said the Brazilian veteran.
"I had to run without the wheel covers and he could run with them.
"But since the upgrade in Barcelona, it came a little bit my way and it has helped me very much."

for sure due to the way jenson drives he relies on corner stabability of the car to enable him to have the confidence to carry speed in the corner, seems the updates introduced in spain seem to favour rubens style of braking really late.
I wonder if anyone knows what updates they will bring for Turkey as it has some really fast corners and redbull are mighty through them. for sure they will have a new adaption of the front wing and i heard some other aero bits to the rear.

PS: thnx,
bar555, great thread.
Encases an optical sensor for both front wheels. Measures tire deflection by measuring the lateral movement of the ground at the tire contact patch. This is the same type of sensor seen on the Red Bull "pod" that some have assumed as a ride height sensor.
