Here is the latest version of the TR18. Could not achieve perfect balance.

Here is the car for Daytona:

https://www.caedevice.net/SERVER/MVRC/2 ... aytona.jpg

- shorter sidepdos
- hidg downforce wings
- winglets
- "beam wing"
That looks brilliant compared to my car, which is:

However how rubbish it looks, it sets a new downforce record for the team since the beginning of the MVRC.

It doesn't look rubbish at all

As usual, I'm still running last minute simulations, but I'm struggling to get above CL-values of 5 without running into massive cooling problems and massive amounts of drag.
I might have to submit a design with a debatable suspension cover. I hope that nothing got lost in translation regarding my understanding of the rules regarding those bits, so they appear to me to be legal.

Cool! If that is as fast as it looks, i'm in trouble!

Talno's and Pure Power's cars look very solid too.

Maybe i'll release a render too, later. But the car doesn't look so different... I could have worked on it much more, but exams got in the way.

My totally unreliable podium forecast is:
1st: JJR (always been strong on high downforce; his car was both efficient and high DF in previous races)
2nd: Variante (i had the most DF and good efficiency; but not enough to stop JJR now, and i think i lost terrain to CAEdevice too)
3rd: CAEdevice (he had the most efficient car, but a bit low on DF)

Looks good to me... nothing obviously wrong about it... 👍👍👍

Ooo almost forgot...

Downforce isn't great and no time for any more simulations so I might just 'wing it' and slap another wing on the front.....

I'll get my coat...

It's raining in Daytona, is there somebody with a rain setup? (Great race for Alonso).

Ok, here's my render. But the racecar is boringly similar to SaoPaulo, so i added a road car from my line to spice things up.
Ever wondered how MVRC cars compare to (large) road cars? :D

Technical changes include:
- enlarged front endplates
- vortex generators on front wing's low pressure side
- more upwashing bodywork
- more aggressive beam wing
- more aggressive rear wing

I was able to put a couple of updates on the car, whilst maintaining the same sort of efficiency.
The last iterations indicated an increase of around 25% on both drag and downforce.
The current version is again untested, as earlier designs were either illegal or not competitive enough.
The latest tested version was legal, but lacked 5% cooling and CoP was too near to the rear, so an untested version should probably at least get the same sort of values if not better.

For your viewing pleasure:

Changes include:
- Rounded off edges of the floor
- Updated front wing design
- Tail for reduced drag
- Exhaust has more realistic path to engine
- Updated rear wing design, offset slightly to the front of the car to try and balance CoP forwards.
- New mirror design.
- Moved throat of the diffuser slightly more to the front, as there was still room for it due to bad initial design.

Not included:
- Debatable suspension cover.
- Non-debatable version of said cover.
- Smooth transition from new mid-section to footbox.
- Front winglets (due to front quarterpanel design it mostly induces drag)
- New quarterpanel designs, as those failed miserably.
- Sidepods with integrated cooling (could be interesting, but I struggle to get a volume flow >0.5m/s per side)
- Updated middle section of the car, which gives the same sort of drag, but gives a lower lift value, which increases CoP more towards the front.(did not comply with cockpit template)

the road car looks something like what Tesla might produce in the next few years

I would like to see a rendering with the top cars together at the and of the challange.

Your rear wing it looks more aggressive than mine.

Good morning,
the cars are out:
Image
Better resolution found here: https://mantiumchallenge.com/cars-mvrc-daytona-2018/

My first guess, just by looking at the cars is a JJR victory, closely followed by Variante and then CAEdevice.
Did someone ever keep track of my guesses?

If the cars were all perfectly balanced and without flow separation, my guess (looking at the rear wing) would be:

1) Variante
2) JJR
3) Pure Power

I am one of the few who did not use all the allowed rear wing volume, not a good sign.

Here is a more decent presentation of the car, sorry I could not paint the car before the race.
