For the rest, machin, you'll have to wait a little more :)
Haha, intriguing!

For a bit of fun, here's my estimates;

Well developed two tier, full width front wing; Cl.A = 3.5
Well developed diffuser, Cl.A = 2.2 (with slight rear bias)
Single tier, twin-element full width rear wing, Cl.A = 2.3

So I'm guessing total Cl.A of 8 or there abouts???

Front wing Cd.A = 0.9
Rear wing Cd.A = 0.6
Main body Cd.A = 0.72

So, I'm guessing total Cd.A of 2.22 ????!!!

Ha ha, am I close?!
You couldn't wait for the actual data release, could you?
You've done the math right! (well, more or less)

The rear wing, however, is not contributing that much: the diffuser is doing most of the job on the rear.
Drag, as you can see from the speed traps, is lower than expected (luckily!!)

Machin is a "human CPU" that solves CFD equations on the flight :)

I hope that Cl.A = 8 is referred to private simulations :o

It's very close at the front of the field. I'm impressed by MantiumRacing and DynaRace, especially since I think they're both new entrants.

I thought I'd post this.. Chris.. feel free to stick it on the KVRC website if you want. I'll do one for each of the other tracks too...

So you can see where Virtual Stopwatch is taking the speeds from:

You are right; both MantiumRacing and Dynarace are very close in concept too; nice "smooth" designs without over complicated or intricate parts, and what I would describe as quite a "safe" design approach: find a wing profile that works, and use it. Don't over complicate things.

Awesome work guys. I think this year's competition is going to be really good and close....

Not so bad for a car without wheels!

I think you're looking at a very strong result here Matteo! Finger's crossed, eh?!

I am quite surprised with my results considering the car I sent had virtually not gone through any OCCFD simulation (remember I did all my simulations with wheels in the air :( ). Its a shame really because there was potential in this car. Also for Catia users here, I did all my car using only solid, not the GSD module, something that I am sure can help reduce drag as you can really get smooth surfaces!

Good job everyone, I really like all your cars, its great to see such variety. The renderings are also awesome, great job to the staff for that!

I unfortunately have to confirm that I will not take part to the competition as I won't have time to develop the car. I will be back tho, I just don't know when. In the meantime, I will be happy to follow everybody's progress and try to give advice if people don't mind! :)

Will you be allowing the KVRC guys to declare a Lap time for your car, even if you are not competing? [-o<

MadMatt you should let the staff run your car for the first three races (same setup) to make some points (your car has good performance) and focus on the last two races.

I don't think positive for this race but for the second or third one maybe ;)

Shame we not running monza with top speed like that.. really need to sort a computer out so i can run cfd before i submitted.

Hi guys,

We will be releasing the full results on twitter in a few hours. Keep an eye on this thread and @KVRC01 for details.
