Another mesh question - is there a value I can use for boundary mesh size in khamsin that will give me a mesh the same as what is going to be used? I've been using 0.01 so far.

Just noticed there are only two days left to get the cars submitted for Silverstone.... How are everyone's modifications going?

made a couple of changes to the car for this race. not too hopeful after going backwards at Monza.
Changed the nosecone and front wing pylons
changed the shape of the side pods at the undercut below the exhaust
running the monza rearwing fences but the original rearwing
also added a flow director/conditioner under the airbox.

fingers crossed. [-o<

I'm sorry if this have been brought up before but are there any regulations for 2014 we can use to start work 2014?

Oh, my question was more about the capabilities of the software, if it could "propose" optimal gear ratios for a given track and aero map. It's a good point about fixed ratios for next year's F1, but the point I was trying to make is that by providing optimized gear ratios to contestants, they could actually concentrate more on optimizing their aero for a given track, and not worry about default gear ratios hindering their results if they choose to go with significantly more or less drag than others. That's just an idea I wanted to throw out as a spectator of the competition...

When is the submission deadline?

@Markus
For the moment the only regulations we can rely on are the official ones for 2014 published by the FIA, whose link is:
http://www.fia.com/sport/championships/ ... egory%3A82
KVRC guys haven't said anything about "custom" rules for next year challenge (yet).
@Paul
Yours is an intriguing idea, however it considerably increases the difficulty of the challenge. I think that for the moment it is better to focus purely on aerodynamics in the given conditions, equal for everybody. However that is something to seriously consider when all this will be more "oiled".
@cdsavage
Submission deadline is today. Not after midnight (don't know
which midnight

)

11 - STZ Racing

I'm having some internet problems right now so I'll be cutting it pretty close. It would be good if Nick or Julien could chime in with exactly which midnight it is

if you have such an issue, i guess they'll be flexible, as they already were with someone else.

Is it enough to not start work on a car for 2014?
As I started looking at the regs and even a little building a tub I´m wondering if it´s worth it or if I should wait until the announcement?

I would suggest do not start work on a 2014 car as of yet, firstly I will need to get out a much better welcome pack, and secondly, the announcement needs to be out first before development starts
