Great stuff! Very happy for Romain after what he’s been through to be back racing and competing well.

Just goes to show a driver like Grosjean, struggling for points in his final 2 seasons has the talent to go and beat some great drivers. Shows a lot of what's wrong with F1 really.

To be fair, one of his biggest issues was taking stupid risks on the first lap. IIRC it was Mark Webber who dubbed him a “first lap nut case”.

I’m hoping some of that was him trying to over perform in slower cars. Now that he’s basically on mostly equal hardware, it’ll be better.
Also his first rolling start from pole. I think he’ll be okay.

Or right? To get F1 on a playing field with Indy Car, it pretty much have to make it a psuedo spec series. F1 has never been that. Indy Car only has since the split.

Didn't turn it into a win, but a nice podium nevertheless. Yes, you need a pseudo-specseries to make it work, but hey, it's not bad to have a few of those series around for the spectacle. And to see what the drivers are capable of, of course. I would love to see the F1 lineup do a few spec-races a year, even if it's in an F2 car or so, just to see how they compare in that context.
And first win by VK - 5 years to the day after MV. May 15 is a good day for those wearing orange glasses

Or that IndyCar is populated by average drivers, of course...

“Average” drivers. Maybe average of the best drivers.
Romain is fast when his head is right, his Junior career shows that. A lot of people forget that due to silly mistakes and mid/back marker cars.

Looking at the age of many of the indycar drivers, he’s got at least ten more years to add to his career

Big crash for Rosenqvist at Detroit, throttle stuck open.
