I still think it makes very good sense to pursue ideas that allow you to have the best possible 'passing performance'. If Alonso/Hamilton and McLaren are setting their car up more for race-distance and it is affecting their qualifying positions then spending a bit of time on development in the passing theme seems like a good idea.DaveKillens wrote:Good point, but so far this year, the car that got through turn one first went on to win. These days, qualifying and starting position is ultra-critical.beerbellybob wrote:What if its there to help condition flow while closely following another car?
But you can replace the whole nosecone during the pitstop.m3_lover wrote:I don't think you could..I believe after Parc Ferme you are only allowed to make various adjustments to tyres..front wing angles etc. and such..No new parts or anything after qualifying
True, but with the same exact nosecone specifications as the one it's replacing. Thus not changing/altering the aerodynamics whatsoever.modbaraban wrote:But you can replace the whole nosecone during the pitstop.m3_lover wrote:I don't think you could..I believe after Parc Ferme you are only allowed to make various adjustments to tyres..front wing angles etc. and such..No new parts or anything after qualifying
