What is floor guide 3 for then? I was assuming it was the highest part of the diffuser. But clearly I was wrong
Floor guide 3 is what I was talking about.

For instance, this round I totally forgot to put rear view mirrors on my car (on the renderings as well...).

@Ft5fTL, awesome video! It would be great if at the end of the challenge we could display all the cars in a simulator, like you and CAEdevice did!
We agree Variante! In our opinion it's also easier for us newcomers to get 1 mail that points out every illegal detail than having to ask Chris about every part we aren't sure about.

What about a bonus to resubmit the car only once during the challenge, and penalties only after using the bonus (or twice)?

I am impressed thinking about Chris spending more than 15/16h in a week to check our cars...

Right, thanks

Yes this is an awesome idea! As long as it's not too much work. It would be interesting to 'feel' the varying level of downforce each kvrc car gives

It took me about 3 days without editing engine (580 hp 620 nm 4.0 turbo diesel), tyre, suspension files at all to get a decent level of immersion. Sadly getting all cars in sim needs some manpower and that manpower must be official kvrc staff.

WOW. That's a lot of work. Definitely too much to do all the teams. The kvrc staff already have too much on their plate

Yeah, like the engine rule in Fomula 1! 1 or 2 free resubmissions and then in our case a time penalty for every following resub.

I agree. That's a lot of time..

Has anyone had (and solved!) this error from Paraview which occurs when I try and load the *.foam file from the test race.... (It opens *.foam files created using the old Khamsin plugin)

Image

I've got Paraview version 4.1.0 32-bit......

Try installing paraview 4.4, and this

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=36045

If this doesn't solve the issue, I'm not sure what the error could be related to

Have had runtime errors with Paraview in the past, I have a couple of different versions installed just in case :D

Thank you!

My comments:

- Variante has the most refined car (one detail is the same as my car)
- JJR has a completely new car this year
- Mantium is the only one with full closed sidepods
- Good impressions from Talno, RicME, HP, CCE and especially TF
- Kineuton has the most elegant design (it looks fast as well)
- Two cars have something "organic"
- One car had an accident before the the race :)

I agree, Matteo
I would also add "sjns" to the "good impression" list!

JJR surprised me with that bodywork layout: i was convinced that he would have kept last year's as it looked perfect for the set of regulations.
Maybe he's just trying something different...?

Mantium is still using the low diffuser, which surprises me since we are in the high downforce rounds! I'm very curious to see how it performs

In fact, I can't wait to see everybody's data! (...hopefully the whole set of data: DF, drag, CoP, pressure differentials)
