Maybe at 200mph in the simulator, but not on a corner you'll actually find anywhere. I don't hit 2G on the softest slicks you can get (think qualifying tyres), so I struggle to believe there's anything that can do it on road legal rubber.

The new McLaren P1™ has much higher levels of downforce than any current road car – 600kg is achieved well below maximum speed. That is approximately five times as much downforce as a McLaren 12C. Its margin over most other high performance supercars is even greater. The McLaren P1™’s downforce is similar to current sports racing cars, including the 12C GT3 racer.
It´s not going to be anywhere near the T125 but most likely beat the Huayra.

To be fair, the "standard" tires on the P1 are anything but. Though you have a point - the kicker is the downforce. What I wonder is how much it's generating at the lower speeds of a track like Top Gear's. Wasn't that an issue when running an F1 car around it? Not getting enough speed to get the df working for them?

Maybe it has something to do with the P1 having much stronger ground effects.

McLaren don't do Italian excess. Funny that. Seriously, McLaren do classy understatement not gaudy bling. Hence the lack of pointless shiny stuff.

The exterior is mostly "form follows function".

What is the point of all car manufacturers making the same "blingfest" designs?

As for the engine noise, they probably haven't got around to tuning to exhaust note - most sports cars these days have their exhausts tuned to make them sound good.
My point is that Mclaren are building to design targets that appear to be purely performance based while paying seemingly little attention to other more important stuff. Pagani have shown you can have a best in class interior, exterior and performance, and If I were to be in the market for such an expensive car, I'd want to best in every aspect. I don't think you can really call the interior of a Pagani a bling fest either.
I especially like the four jet motors coming out of the dash but shouldn't they be in the back of the car?
In the next pictures, please include a picture of the pimp that comes with the car. Does he always ride in the boot?

Take a look at those pictures. I really cant understand why some people calls this car boring and plain looking.... Its absolutely gorgeous imo.

This P1 has ALL the style and class, it is truely a work of art in the automotive industry. The P in P1 I assume means prototype since only thirty will be built and if you are rich enough to own one :D you can boast about that 25 mpg.
If it were me I wouldn't even care if it had ac or electric windows.
This is probably the closest to f1 that you can buy into for the street.
We have a saying that also might be in europe "WHITE ELEPHANT"
My girlfriend would have to really put a smile on my face, just for a ride around the block."maybe"

It's a great car but the led's up front cheapen the overall design.
And those pics at the BIC are amazing, especially the ones at sunset since they blend in with the colour of the car very well.

If you are refering to the tach, speedometer and gauges, I see a simplistic, funtional design.
Can you specify or show the up front led?

Why does this car remind me of the Koenigsegg agera which will go 0 to 200mph and back to 0 in less than 15 seconds.
Or does the Koenigsegg remind me of this car?
