Can anyone tell me what the tube like devise is that is coming out of the hood near the windshield on some lmp1 cars - specifically the Peugeot 908?
My son and I are racing with the Forza game and I have noticed that several of the cars have that tube - it looks like a small hollow tube bent to 90 deg.
Thanks.

Would i be correct in saying F1 cars have theirs on the very tip of the nose?
That little hole with mesh.

F1 cars usually have them right in front of the cockpit opening, Ferrari also put it above the air intake on a special extension during testing for more accurate measurements.

I see, thanks Paul.
So the front hole is basically just cooling maybe?

Some fresh air for the driver, cooling for electronic components in the nose...
