With the advent of 2014 regs I reckon we will see drs being dropped.
Scarbs did a write up of the 2014 regs I vaguely remember, and aero reliance of cars will drop substantially.

I also hope so it's a artificial rule create some action to satisfy the crowd.
The idea as it is implemented now has not grown from a natural idea to increase the cars efficiency.
Also the implementation to change the angle of attack of the flap is out of date since we have seen the f-duct.

I think it should be replaced by fully adjustable wings, controlled by the driver, all over the track at anytime, driver skill!

I think that it is doubtful that it will be dropped; in fact, I think it is likely to be extended into other feeder series.
The next generation Renault World Series cars already have a DRS style flap, which will be introduced next season :

I hope it will be banned tomorrow tbh. Having said that. I wonder how teams will approach DRS in Spa and Monza

If you look at the reasons why DRS was introduced, then it's raisin d'ĂȘtre will have been nullified by 2014.
Cars have an over reliance on aero, and the DRS is there to give the disadvantaged car behind a chance of an overtake. We aren't talking 2 seconds a lap quicker, but usually around 0.5 to 1 second.
This time difference is what accounted for the Trulli train phenomena...
However with uber skinny front wings from 2014, and a proposed emphasis on the mechanical side of the sport, DRS place seems somewhat redundant.

If they can get the new regulations off the ground...

I still think they should have gone with ground effect minus wings

I think wings may be too much a part of F1 now to be removed altogether. Not sure if this is good or bad really.
