focus on Williams FW07, king of the wing-cars

Hello, the focus on the Williams FW07, king of the ground effect era, is ready. Many pics of the underwings are posted and it's interesting to compare with the Brabham BT49, it seems more sophisticated than this one.

Why not? In the early 80's it was already known...
Big CF revolution was start making the chassis out of it (about that time, at McLaren). But bodywork parts were already made from it...

All that black parts in the front of BT49's monocoque are CF panels. Brabham began to use it in 1979...

Yes, Brabham was the first to use Carbon in its monocoque, before MacLaren and its MP4.
And yes, the front and rear wings are in carbon too, they began to make them in 1982, the cars had to be as light as possible to fight against the Turbos.

But, Mclaren where the first to have a monocoque made ENTIRELY out of Carbon Fibre....as opposed to partly CF on the brabhams

But Brabham was the first team that made F1 car using CAD insted of drawing board
