I spend 10 to 15 hours a week on my racing simulator. Any ideas how I can exercise my neck while I sim race to prepare for real world race car g-forces? How do F1 drivers prepare? I am sure it must be more than just a couple actuators hooked to the seat.

Any ideas appreciated. Thought I'd ask before I start ordering parts, soldering, and rigging up contraptions.

Thank you,
Robert

You could purchase equipment used by F1 teams, but are you planning on racing in F1 as to make this necessary?

Otherwise there are many ways to strengthen neck muscles at a normal gym.

Get racing properly if you want to be a racing driver, I race in karting and since I started my neck muscles have got substantially bigger, and as you move up the classes, the more g force and the more muscle you get 8)

Work up a pulley system and hang weights from your helmet? :P

I saw a YouTube video once - of a machine that was as such. Basically you wore a helmet and pulling left or right lifted a weight which was attached to the helmet via a cable.

Use resistance training using the rubber tubing from spear guns. A simple connection to a head band works fine.

Put a big pogo stick atop a helmet and have 4 ropes X and Y tugging you this way and that.

It might get annoying.
