Mercedes AMG F1 W03

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

doesn't that looks like a mini monkey seat?

hate to say this, but it will be a very devastating season if they don't win any gp this year by the look of the car.
NO THERE IS NO MONKEY SEAT ON THE REAR WING

Car looks fast and it could challenge in fast tracks like Monza.

In terms of beauty..... it's most ugly nose on the grid IMHO.

So, what would you call the raised flap in the centre of the beam wing? A lemur-lounger?

gridwalk - loks like just the rain light. Most teams do it in a ramp shape as such I think.

Raymondo : Here's another angle on it ... that still looks like a raised flap to me.

The rain light is built into the crash structure, so you wouldn't be able to see it from that angle.

Shouldn't this thread be stickied? It's the fastest moving thread but I keep missing it down at the bottom of the list.

Theres some small hatches with 3 bolts in them. Two are visable on the pictures above.
I know that RW F-duct is forbidden but if it`s a passive one then it`s allowed?

Another thing is the absence of rear brake fins ... maybe for better air flow in this area?

They also copied the bulb from RB, placed onto the floor (in the picture is high on the right side)

Could those panels be for maintaining the DRS mechanism? We know Merc have placed the actuators within the structure of the wing, rather than using the raised actuator used by other teams, so it would make sense that they design the wing in a way that allows access to the mechanism and electronics ...
