Hi, some of you may remember me building up from a base chassis into the majority of a roller however as the bug bit I was more and more focused on securing a car that had raced.Speaking to F1Snake (Bjorn and Nadine) inspired me more so this month I took receipt of BAR0305 Chassis which I believe and according to Autosport was.....
3rd in the 2001 Spanish GP (last lap promotion due to the failure of a Mclaren)

8th in the 2001 San Marino GP

Qualified in the top ten in Austria but failed to race as engine failure on Sunday morning.

As yet its a roller and my plans are long term as first I have to pay for it but thought you may be interested in the car. As for my old project Mats who has the Sauber now owns the tub and body parts and is planning on continuing my work.

If anyone has photos or more info on my chassis I would love to hear
all the best

Thanks N12ck,
I will ask if more is to follow with regards to my old project.

It seems that my chassis was used as a show car by the Honda team for a few years and then sat in someones warehouse for a number years, hence the bar code colour scheme

I will be loading more pictures of the breaks etc over the coming weeks

The fact you have it out in your backyard is priceless. BBQs at your place just became the 'place to be'. Here I was thinking thrashing the kids pee wee 80 after a few quiet ones with the boys was fun - when's our invite?

Hi N12ck,
not sure yet, The engine and gearbox are some way off as I need to stop for a while. I am aiming at something around the 300-350BHP mark but thats all I know for now as quite a bit will depend on the rear end.
Here is another shot, this one taken at the auction house before I bought the car this year.

I have also added a badge to an A1GP steering wheel, perfect for show purposes as the Honda one is very rare

Hey showcar,

What would it be worth if I told you that I could get a complete gearbox internal section made by x-trac for your 2001 Bar honda. Give me a shout if you are interested.

If Xtrac is involved, it would be worth BIG $$$ ! lol

I know a couple of other transmission manufacturers that could do the same, for a lot less than those guys.

Planning is everything, measure twice / cut once.
Become friends with a skilled cad operator and design it all to the very finished outcome.

Thanks guys for all of the info. I really appreciate it. I looked at all of your links and info. X-trac is only really expensive because they want you to buy 8 gear ratios each. lots of spare parts. I own Jacques race suit from the 2001 era as well as olivier panis. I have great era specific cars in other items directly from the factory.

I really appreciate all of the info and there are things I don't have so I might get some things you guys have posted.

pirreli are going to auction a 2011 HRT
http://metro.co.uk/2013/04/24/pirelli-s ... n-3665192/
Pirelli had originally planned to repaint the car in their black and yellow colours and use it for promotional purposes at dealerships and company events, however it seems no one is interested in taking it on.

The company’s motorsport director Paul Hembery said: ‘There doesn’t seem to be a lot of enthusiasm, it’s a bit of a shame really.

‘Our marketing department said nobody seems to want to use it. So I said let’s put it on eBay for charity.

‘Now we are trying to find a category on eBay for an F1 car.’
Bet it sells for a crapload of cash though even if "noone wants it" lol

Yeah I wish I had that sort of spending money! [-o< Although I really think the old cars look better anyway. 1990's car with a 3.0 V10 for me =D

Congrats on buying an F1 car! Flickr is blocked on my computer but I'll have a look at uni :)
